Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our IT team as a:

MES Manager

Are you passionate about digital transformation and process optimization within automotive or advanced manufacturing? Do you excel in integrating IT solutions with production operations? Plasman is searching for an MES Manager who will lead and shape the future of our digital factory initiatives, supporting a world-class manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities 

• Champion the support, and continuous improvement of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) across multiple production sites.
• Collaborate with internal IT, engineering, and production teams to ensure optimal performance, functionality, and integration of MES with ERP, automation, and plant-floor systems.
• Design, document, and deploy MES process workflows, ensuring they support real-time data capture, production tracking, reporting, and manufacturing best practices.
• Lead troubleshooting, system upgrades, process changes, and go-live activities, delivering timely support to operational teams.
• Drive user training, develop MES documentation, and foster system adoption among plant and leadership teams.
• Monitor system health, trends, and KPIs to identify optimization opportunities and lead continuous improvement initiatives using MES analytics.
• Act as a key liaison between plant operations, corporate IT, and external vendors.
• Manage and mentor MES support staff if applicable.

Required Qualifications and Skills 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred; combination of equivalent education and experience considered.
• 5+ years progressive experience with MES platforms within manufacturing or industrial automation environments.
• Thorough knowledge of plant-floor systems, PLC integration, data historian, and real-time manufacturing data environments.
• Previous experience implementing, supporting, or leading MES projects in fast-paced production settings—automotive preferred.
• Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills, including the ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to translate operational needs into robust MES functional requirements and technical solutions.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and training facilitation skills; able to work collaboratively with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing, quality, and continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.

Work Environment & Additional Requirements

• Must be able to travel as required to Plasman manufacturing sites.
• Flexible to support off-hours production launches or troubleshooting as needed.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality mindset, and team collaboration are essential.
