Customer Quality Engineer
The Customer Quality Specialist or designate is responsible for maintaining the customer- facility communication loop for identified quality issues at the customer facility to the Plasman location in Greer, SC. Effectively communicate issues observed at customer facilities to appropriate plant personnel. This position is also responsible for assisting in determination of the root cause of issues and drive change to address those issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are certainly not limited to:
Represent Plasman in a professional manner.
Setup and maintain containment with the Quality Manager when dealing with Plasman's Fort Payne parts at customer facility.
Follow up on issues with the plant
In conjunction with the Quality management staff, initiate customer identified corrective actions as outlined below:
Coordinate and follow-up on quality issues (mold, paint, assembly) with concerned external customers
Follow up on containment activities
Field findings (Defective) part review with quality Auditors
Determine issue(s) possible root cause, identify potential corrective measures, and implement changes necessary to address these issues in a timely manner at customer facilities.
Manage product returnsand issue RMA(s) as per APP RMA procedures.
Buffing of incoming parts (if deemed as outside of specification) as required.
Timelyfeedback to plant positions with acquired knowledge from field.
Report into Quality Manager or designate on a daily basis
Recommend and participate in Continuous Improvement activities
Promote an atmosphere of teamwork at all times
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Required to aid in the Quality Department with final inspection duties, audits, rework, and launch activities when not required as a Customer Quality Specialist.
Work in compliance with the Quality and Business Operating Systems and all health and safety and environmental legislation
Completion of any other duties as assigned

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:
Must have the ability to be trained for the above-mentioned responsibilities and authorities
Acceptable performance record and attendance record required
Preference to experience in quality as an auditor/technician
Ability and willingness to travel all over North America within short notice
Ability and willingness to work extended hours if necessary
Demonstrate problem solving activities to be able to determine root cause of issues, and drive change to address issues
Assertive personality when defending the agreed upon Plasman stand on issues
Have the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
Familiar with word processing and spreadsheet applications
Familiar with Quality Management System Standards (PPAP, FMEA, control plans,)
Extensive knowledge of color acceptable color ranges, the effects of light conditions on appearance
Extensive knowledge of process(s) part/ plant/ issue history
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Understanding of expectations detailed through Organization Statements, Standards, Visions, Policies and Procedures (i.e. Mission, Values, Code of Conduct, Operational Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety) as referenced in Employee Handbooks and communicated through Orientation and/or other training awareness opportunities
7.2 Additional training requirements may be identified based on plant-specific location (municipality/province/state/country) and/or operational needs that are commensurate with the duties, expectations and responsibilities of the role within the specific plant
7.3 Ability to perform well in high pressure situations
7.4 Possess sound financial and business insights
7.5 Meets expectation rating (rating score of 2 or 3) in all applicable Competencies as defined in the Performance Management Process.
Capable of independent travel to, from and within designated regions
Access to reliable transportation
Must be capable of performing the essential duties which include maximum safe lifts to the 75th percentile of the employee as determined by acceptable standards
Must have valid driver's license and be in good standing
Must be able to travel inside and outside of Canada
Must have a valid passport
Capable of physically performing the essential duties of the position, including walking, lifting reworking parts, and ability to adapt to multiple shift rotation
Acceptable performance, conduct and attendance record

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
