3rd Shift Injection Molding Operator
Key Responsibilities
1. JOB TITLE DESCRIPTION:
1.1 The Injection Operator assembles a range of components or vehicles into finished goods across one or more production lines ensuring required standards of quality are met.
2. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
2.1 This position reports directly to: Supervisor
3. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are certainly not limited to:
3.1 Operate production Assembly workstation line equipment
3.2 Monitor the production process and carry out basic testing and quality checks
3.3 Adjust machine controls whilst monitoring the production process and outputs
3.4 Assemble goods on a production line
3.5 Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and machinery
3.6 Report equipment faults to maintenance staff
3.7 Build up components and sub-assemblies into finished electrical or mechanical products
3.8 Fit parts to machinery and equipment
3.9 Finish products such as polishing, etc.
3.10 Cut and shape parts and tools
3.11 Set and operate hand-controlled or computer-controlled machines
3.12 Make quality control checks on products
3.13 Ensure products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer and internal standards and specifications
3.14 Record how much raw material has been used during production and the number of items produced
3.15 Pack goods, with protective materials ready for shipment in crates, stillages or other containers
3.16 Seal containers using appropriate materials such as glue, staples or shrink-wrap
3.17 Weigh and label packaged goods ready for dispatch
3.18 Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.
3.19 Practical hands-on approach to problem solving.
3.20 Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
3.21 Works in a safe manner at all times, complying with Health, Safety and Environmental Standards.
3.22 ERP QAD / Scan Gun
3.23 Other Duties as assigned
4. HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
4.1 The Injection Operator is responsible for complying with the Company Health & Safety Program including the Occupational Health Legislation, regulations, standards and Company Health & Safety policies. Reference: JDA-003: Worker/Supplied Labor Health & Safety Responsibilities (Addendum to Worker Job Descriptions).
5. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum education qualifications:
5.1 High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent required.
6. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:
6.1 1 year of manufacturing experience required; automotive experience preferred
6.2 Experience of working to production targets
6.3 Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S process.
7. MINIMUM TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum training:
7.1 SDS Sheets
7.2 Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, and other relevant Company Policy awareness
7.3 New Employee Orientation (when required)
