IT Analyst
Key Responsibilities
1. JOB TITLE DESCRIPTION:
1.1 The IT Technical Analyst or designate will co-ordinate, support and assist in all Information Technology Activities within the Plant and corporate IT Department at Plasman.
2. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
2.1 This position Directly reports to: IT Infrastructure Manager
This position Indirectly (dotted line) reports to: Director, Information Technology
3. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are certainly not limited to:
3.1 Provides computer support to an area including information, instruction and assistance concerning the use of company hardware and software within the Plant and/or Office environments.
3.2 Provides first level and second level support through the IT Helpdesk ticketing system
3.3 Ability to support SQL Databases at a beginner to intermediate level
3.4 Project Management Experience
3.5 Network WAN/LAN support experience in a complex multi VLAN environment
3.6 Installs, tests, configures and upgrades hardware and software including client workstations, shop floor MES systems and label printers.
3.7 Assists in basic technical tasks related to the maintenance and administration of an area’s computer network such as assigning passwords, managing printers, assigning permissions, enabling and disabling accounts, monitoring backups. monitoring Anti-Virus, etc.
3.8 Performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance on all network connected devices such as workstations, laptops, cell phones, printers, MES stations, handheld scanners and label printers
3.9 Maintains an accurate inventory of all IT equipment including laptops, desktops, printers, cell phones and spare parts
3.10 Keeps abreast of new developments in the field to update skills and knowledge.
3.11 Data Center support and maintenance of hardware (Physical Servers, Storage Systems and networking appliances) and software (Windows Servers, VMWare, Anti-Virus, Veeam, etc.)
3.12 Maintain, test and update plant’s disaster recovery plans
3.13 Primary contact for external vendors including security systems, networking, application support, MFP and Label Printer maintenance, etc
3.14 Support other plants by being in the after-hours support rotation, as required
3.15 Promote an atmosphere of teamwork at all times
3.16 Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained
3.17 Complete any other duties as assigned
3.18 Assist in any way to any employee, necessary to promote a successful operation emphasizing customer satisfaction
3.19 Ensure that all employees receive proper training and understand all job tasks
4. HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
4.1 The Technical Analyst is responsible for complying with the Company Health & Safety Program including the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Industrial regulations, WHMIS regulations and Company Health & Safety policies. Reference: JDA-003 Worker/Supplied Labour Health & Safety Responsibilities (Addendum to Worker Job Descriptions).
5. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum education qualifications:
5.1 Must possess a 2 year technical or 4 year (preferred) degree in the field.
5.2 Computer Hardware Certification (CompTIA Network+ and Server+) and Cisco Certification preferred
6. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:
6.1 Must have at least 2-3 years’ experience in computer support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
7. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
7.1 Understanding of expectations detailed through Organization Statements, Standards, Visions, Policies and Procedures (i.e. Mission, Values, Code of Conduct, Operational, Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety) as referenced in Employee Handbooks and communicated through Orientation and/or other training awareness opportunities
7.2 Additional training requirements may be identified based on plant-specific location (municipality/province/state/country) and/or operational needs that are commensurate with the duties, expectations and responsibilities of the role within the specific plant
7.3 Ability to perform well in high pressure situations
7.4 Possess sound financial and business insights
7.5 Meets expectation rating (rating score of 2 or 3) in all applicable Competencies as defined in the Performance Management Process.
7.6 Capable of independent travel to, from and within designated regions
7.7 Access to reliable transportation
7.8 Must be capable of performing the essential duties which include maximum safe lifts to the 75th percentile of the employee as determined by acceptable standards
7.9 EDI experience a plus
7.10 Experience with repetitive manufacturing
7.11 Previous ERP experience - QAD
7.12 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
