Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our Logistics team as a Forklift Operator
POSITION TITLE
The Forklift Operator is responsible for loading/unloading products in the shipping/receiving area, set up and organization of products for production as needed, as well as maintain and FIFO for shipping.
Key Responsibilities
- Must abide by BOL and prioritize shipments per shipping schedule.
- Safely operate forklift for transporting material, products, and containers.
- Daily checklist completed on forklift before and after shift.
- Perform and hold standard FIFO per shipping department.
- Verifying shipments are being loaded in timely manner (Ensure operator is trained on how to verify shipments are being loaded correctly and efficiently per shipping documentation).
- Verifying material to pack slips then passing to S&R clerk for receiving.
- Submitting ASN (Advanced Shipment Notice) timely manner and confirming shippers. (ensure that if a shipper needs to be communicated to the customer, that it is being done so) then delivering to S&R clerk.
- Putting away material in the receiving area that has been received after each shift.
- Tarping any raw extrusion coming in.
- Pulling material in a timely manner for customer trucks.
- Putting away any resin as needed.
- Labeling incoming material as needed when the S&R clerk needs support
- Labeling shipments as needed when the S&R clerk needs support
- Verifying all container returns match all paperwork each time
- Notifying Materials, Production, and S&R clerk when urgent material arrives.
- Forklift Operators are to weigh any incoming required material.
- Receiving in material as required or as necessary in a timely manner.
- Support any other departments per Shipping Supervisor request.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Support S&R Clerk at any time needed.
- Reporting any safety issues, dock issues or IT (ticket entry) issues to Shipping and Receiving Supervisor.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience We're Looking For
- HS Diploma or GED
- Forklift certification required
- DOT Certification
- Must have 2-4 years of experience in Manufacturing environment
- Ability to perform well in high pressure situations
- Access to reliable transportation
- Must be capable of performing the essential duties which include maximum safe lifts to the 75th percentile of the employee as determined by acceptable standards.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
