Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our HUMAN RESOURCES team as an:
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY COORDINATOR
The Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator (EHS Coordinator) at Plasman plays a crucial role in promoting and ensuring a safe and compliant workplace. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring EHS programs and initiatives that align with regulatory standards and our corporate values.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards in the workplace, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate EHS training and awareness programs to educate employees on safety standards.
- Monitor compliance with safety protocols and conduct periodic audits and inspections.
- Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Prepare reports on EHS metrics and performance for management review.
- Collaborate with department managers to integrate EHS considerations into business processes.
- Ensure a personal and associate awareness of all quality and business-related operating systems (ISO/IATF).
Qualifications, Skills and Experience We're Looking For:
- Post Secondary degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field; a combination of education, training and years working experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and promote safety initiatives.
- Proficient in EHS software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
- High attention to detail and ability to work methodically.
- Proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential EHS issues.
- Capability to foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
