Key Responsibilities
1. JOB TITLE DESCRIPTION:
1.1 The Maintenance Technician or designate will perform maintenance functions and assist fellow maintenance technicians as a team in the activities of the Maintenance DepartmentHan at Plasman.
2. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
2.1 This position Directly reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
3. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are certainly not limited to:
3.1 Proactively complete maintenance work to include electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and general repair and maintenance of all equipment to maintain quality and production levels.
3.2 Responsible for troubleshooting of equipment and miscellaneous downtime issues.
3.3 Perform preventative maintenance of equipment within manufacturers specifications.
3.4 Maintain the building by installing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance activities for the facility as required.
3.5 Fabricating or building items as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor.
3.6 Troubleshoot and assist Paint / Robotics Department with all clean room related issues.
3.7 Perform maintenance / cleaning on paint gun and all required components.
3.8 Maintain Maintenance software program(s) or equivalent repair log.
3.9 Promote an atmosphere of teamwork at all times.
3.10 Recommend and participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
3.11 Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
3.12 Work in compliance with the Quality and Business Operating Systems and all health and safety and environmental legislation.
3.13 Completion of any other duties as assigned.
3.14 Abide by Company Value Statement and the Company Standard Code of Conduct
4. HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
4.1 The Maintenance Technician is responsible for complying with the Company Health & Safety Program including Occupational Health & Safety Legislation, regulations, standards, and Company Health & Safety policies. Reference: JDA-003 Worker/Supplied Labor Health & Safety Responsibilities (Addendum to worker Job Descriptions).
5. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum education qualifications:
5.1 Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those who have completed Maintenance diploma/certificate and/or hold a ticket in Industrial maintenance.
5.2 Preference will be given to those candidates who hold a valid Industrial Electrician (442A), or Industrial Mechanic (Millwright Red Seal program) certification (as necessary for the required role)
5.3 Preference will be given to those candidates who have education in the areas of electrical, PLC, mechanical and hydraulics.
6. WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:
6.1 Must have at least a minimum of four years’ experience in an industrial maintenance environment, with preference given to those who have knowledge and experience in the areas of PLC (ABB), Robotic (Fanuc/ABB), electrical, mechanical and hydraulics.
6.2 Experience with a manufacturing environment or paint application is considered an asset.
6.3 Must have the ability to be trained for the above-mentioned responsibilities and authorities.
6.4 Acceptable performance record and attendance record required.
7. MINIMUM TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum training:
7.1 SDS and Hazcom
7.2 Lock-out/Tag-out
7.3 Crane Training
7.4 Manlift/Fall Arrest
7.5 Lift Truck Training
7.6 Spill Training
7.7 Health & Safety Training
7.8 Plasman Quality / Environmental Policy awareness
7.9 New Employee Orientation (when required)
7.10 Annual Respirator fit test/ISO Medical
8. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
8.1 Ability to perform well in high pressure situations.
8.2 Must be self-motivated with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
8.3 Ability to prioritize and adjust work based on requirement.
8.4 Meets expectation rating for relevant competencies.
8.5 Access to reliable transportation
9. MEASUREMENTS OF JOB PERFORMANCE:
9.1 Acceptable Performance Management Process core competency performance rating.
