Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our Materials team as a(n):
Shipping & Receiving Clerk
1. JOB TITLE DESCRIPTION:
1.1 The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator or designate will manage, coordinate and assist in the activities of the Materials Department at Plasman.
2. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
2.1 This position Directly reports to: Materials Supervisor
3. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are certainly not limited to:
3.1 Organize daily shipping requirements as scheduled & communicate all shipping and production activities.
3.2 Communication daily releases to Shipping Personnel to ensure orders are prepared for shipment.
3.3 Coordinate the transportation requirement through the corporate logistic company for shipments.
3.4 Providing direction and support to all lift truck drivers as required by facility.
3.5 Communicate and complete necessary customer container tracking information and submit on customer Portal when applicable.
3.6 Relieving inventory in Trans4M as required.
3.7 Participating in continuous improvement activities with all personnel.
3.8 Working in compliance with Quality and Business Operating Systems and health and safety and environmental legislation.
3.9 Be an example to employees in all areas of the business through demonstrated professionalism and the ability to make accurate and timely decisions.
3.10 Responsible for all EDI transactions.
3.11 Assist Materials Manager in training Scheduling / Logistics Supervisor Shipping personnel as required.
3.12 Participate in inventory as required.
3.13 Responsible for checking all respective Customer Portals through all respective drive windows per day and respond accordingly.
3.14 Customer contact on off shift as required.
3.15 Ensure that all incoming product is thoroughly inspected, tested, and labelled.
3.16 Entering of incoming packing slips into Trans4M (repetitive and discrete PO’s).
3.17 To communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues that result from receiving and issuer of
corrective action to suppliers that fail to meet expectations.
3.18 Maintenance of the approved supplier list.
3.19 Complete any other duties as assigned.
3.20 Adhere to all current ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
3.21 Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 (includes ISO 9001) Standards, and company policies and procedures.
3.22 During management system audit events provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures and participate in corrective action activities as necessary.
3.23 Promote an atmosphere of teamwork at all times.
3.24 Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained.
3.25 Assist in any way to any employee, necessary to promote a successful operation emphasizing customer satisfaction.
4. HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
4.1 The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for complying with the Company Health & Safety Program including Occupational Health & Safety Legislation, regulations, standards, and Company Health & Safety policies. Reference: JDA-003 Worker/Supplied Labour Health & Safety Responsibilities (Addendum to Worker Job Descriptions).
5 MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum education qualifications:
5.1 Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those who have completed some or all a college level program.
6. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:
6.1 Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in materials, with preference given to those who have 5-7 years’ experience (including being able to lead staff).
7. MINIMUM TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum training:
7.1 Country Specific Hazardous Communications (SDS, HAZCOM)
7.2 Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, and other relevant Company Policy awareness
7.3 New Employee Orientation (when required)
8. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
8.1 Understanding of expectations detailed through Organization Statements, Standards, Visions, Policies and Procedures (i.e. Mission, Values, Code of Conduct, Operational, Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety) as referenced in Employee Handbooks and communicated through Orientation and/or other training awareness opportunities.
8.2 Additional training requirements may be identified based on plant-specific location (municipality/province/state/country) and/or operational needs that are commensurate with the duties, expectations, and responsibilities of the role within the specific plant.
8.3 Ability to perform well in high pressure situations.
8.4 Meets expectation rating (rating score of 2 or 3) in all applicable Competencies as defined in the Performance Management Process.
8.5 Capable of independent travel to, from and within designated regions
8.6 Access to reliable transportation
8.7 Escalation Procedure Training for Honda
8.8 Must be capable of performing the essential duties which include maximum safe lifts to the 75th percentile of the employee as determined by acceptable standards.
8.9 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
