Plasman, Global Headquarters is currently seeking a new member to join our team as an:
IT TECHNICIAN
This position offers a compensation range of $58,000 - $70,000, dependent on skills and experience.
This posting is for an existing, currently vacant position within Plasman, with an anticipated start date of approximately June, and is intended to provide temporary coverage for a leave of absence of approximately 18 months.
Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Technician provides onsite technical support, maintains hardware and software, assists with network and security tasks, and participates in technology projects that support operational efficiency and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for IT support, responding to employee requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues; document work performed and maintain accurate helpdesk records.
Monitor and manage helpdesk tickets, ensuring timely response and resolution, and escalating issues as required.
Provide support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook and Teams.
Support communication and collaboration tools, including conference calling systems and Teams.
Maintain and support email systems, spam filtering, and internet filtering tools.
Configure, image, deploy, and recycle desktops, laptops, and workstations; maintain imaging libraries and improve deployment efficiency.
Support onboarding, offboarding, and internal employee moves by setting up and deploying IT equipment and systems access.
Coordinate IT supply ordering and maintain inventory of equipment and materials.
Assist with asset management, including inventory tracking and PC refresh planning.
Identify recurring technical issues and recommend improvements to systems, tools, or processes.
Support audit activities by providing documentation and participating in corrective action follow-ups as required.
Ensure work practices align with the organization’s certified management systems, including health and safety, quality, environmental, and automotive industry requirements.
Comply with all Company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
Participate in after-hours or on-call support as required to meet business needs.
Perform other duties as assigned to support IT and business objectives.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience We're Looking For
Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered.
1–3 years of hands-on experience providing IT support in an enterprise or manufacturing environment preferred.
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, common business applications, and basic networking concepts.
Experience with Active Directory, endpoint management tools, imaging tools, and ticketing systems is an asset.
Familiarity with networking hardware (switches, access points), VPNs, and basic TCP/IP troubleshooting.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to document technical work clearly.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, including occasional shift or after-hours support.
Willingness to learn manufacturing-specific systems and work safely in production areas; ability to follow health and safety protocols.
