Plasman Tilbury is currently seeking a new member to join our team as an:
OPERATIONS MANAGER
In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our day-to-day operations to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Direct reporting responsibility over the Quality Manager, Materials Manager, Paint Applications Superintendent, Maintenance Department, Process and Controls Engineer
Assist General Manager in managing the operations to ensure no negative variances and expeditiously correcting variances as they arise, including but not exclusive to flexing DL, IDL and manufacturing expenses to targets
Work with the direct management teams to ensure all customer requirements are met, and interact with the customer as necessary
Working with the Plasman Management team to ensure all expectations and targets are met for the organization
Champion continuous improvement initiatives relative to the production departments including lean initiatives
Covers managerial oversight of facility maintenance function, providing technical direction and leadership to support, safe compliant, and efficient operations.
Lead plant technical projects, ensuring compliance with applicable local laws, regulations and company standards
Support the development, justification, and implementation of sustaining capital, VCP, and cost saving initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered within approved budgets and timelines
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity and efficiency across all business functions.
Lead and manage a team of professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics to ensure alignment with company goals.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and foster collaboration.
Identify process improvement opportunities and drive initiatives for continuous enhancement.
Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company policies to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
Manage budgets and resource allocation to optimize operational costs.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring open communication and effective partnership.
Prepare and present reports to senior management on operational performance and improvement plans.
Ensure a personal and associate awareness of all quality and business-related operating systems (ISO/IATF).
Qualifications, Skills and Experience We're Looking For
Post secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; a combination of education, training and years' working experience will be considered.
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong operational management capabilities.
Experience in paint applications related to processes/ systems
Experience in assembly operations
Experience in positive labor relations with employees in a union environment
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and formulate actionable plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in operational management software and tools.
Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
Professional certification in Operations Management or related discipline an asset.
Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is advantageous.
