Scheduler / Tooling Support Specialist
The Scheduler/Tooling Support Specialist is responsible for assisting with the effective scheduling of internal and external tool build processes. To provide support throughout the tool build process by determining best practice, documentation and R&D in accordance with cost, quality and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborating with all departments to provide strategic direction for tool build process for all new tool builds, repairs and engineering changes.
Responsible for preparing tool build schedules.
Responsible for issuing tool build schedules to manufacturing.
Estimating materials and labour required for manufacturing.
Monitoring manufacturing process.
Preparing and maintaining progress and other related reports.
Analyzing long term outlook to identify potential bottlenecks in capacity and provide action plan strategy recommendations to alleviate these conditions.
Creating CNC/EDM burn maps form supplied data when creating tool build schedule.
Participating in implementing continuous improvement, CRP and efficiency items.
Performing ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly non-conformances associated with the manufacturing process and outsource suppliers.
Collection and management of ongoing issues data.
Facilitating meetings and giving direction on non-conformance issues.
KPI reporting of non-conformances.
Assisting in design reviews of offshore built tools.
Ensuring tools designed offshore are meeting standard and cross referenced to checklists.
Maintaining customer checklists and updates for suppliers.
Collection and review of SRED data and participating in SRED related activities.
Attending and participating in plant organization meetings.
Participates in annual Performance Management Process.
Ensures personal understanding and compliance of ISO 9001:2000 Standards, company policies and procedures.
During management system audit events provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures and participate in corrective action activities as necessary.
Providing support to implement reasonable requests made by management and/or the customer.
Completion of any other duties as assigned.
To follow all organization codes, values, policies, practices, procedures and instructions in the areas of quality, environmental health & safety, security and business operations.
To support, implement, maintain and promote Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism(C-TPAT) initiatives, as required by related organization security management systems procedures.
Completing the train the trainer program for Forklift and Crane training as an in-house training facilitator.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience We're Looking For:
Fifteen (15) years' work experience as a Mold Maker or Lead Machinist.
Minimal of 5 years of experience in Mold design.
Knowledgeable in Excel, PPT, Word.
Strong understanding of machining process.
Sound knowledge of plastic part manufacturing and tooling.
Strong management, organizational, communication, administrative and time management skills.
Understanding of QS and ISO standards.
This position offers a compensation range of $28.00 – $38.00, dependent on skills and experience.
